Description
This bright and well-proportioned four-room flat is situated on the first floor of a well-maintained Berlin historic building that underwent a complete refurbishment around 10 years ago. All rooms are accessed via a central hallway, at the end of which there is a storage room. To the right is … lift …” and so on. That was our property description for this flat from 10 years ago, when we sold it. The text is still factually correct (well, apart from the 10 years – as 20 years have now passed), but we can now say so much more about the building and its residents. The full meaning of this statement becomes clear, at the very latest, when you visit our offices.
Wooden floorboards, stucco, insulated windows, a sunny west-facing balcony, the kitchen, the bathroom – you can see it all in the photos (which are, of course, up to date). But what you can’t see is the atmosphere in the building, the small talk by the letterbox, the smiles as people pass by, the knowledge that you’ve done everything right. Okay, the courtyard could be a bit more charming, but never mind.
Lovely location. Lovely building. Lovely flat. Lovely neighbours.

Location
The house is situated right at the intersection between the Kollwitzviertel and Helmholtzplatz, between Kastanienallee, the Kulturbrauerei and the neighbourhood around Gethsemanekirche. Schönhauser Allee runs just 100 metres away, and a few hundred metres further on lies the neighbouring Gleimviertel.
Despite the march of progress, the ‘Prenzlberger’ is still very much a reality here: somewhat eccentrically dressed, deliberately casual – some might even say scruffy – predominantly well-educated, rebellious when the situation calls for it, occasionally annoying, but definitely likeable and down-to-earth. Or completely out of touch – that happens too. If you want it all – the Prenzlauer Berg vibe, quirky encounters and lovely neighbours – then you’ve come to the perfect place!
The infrastructure couldn't be better. The U2, the S-Bahn ring and several tram lines provide excellent links to the public transport network.
• Shops and amenities of all kinds
• Numerous cafés and restaurants
• Bars, lounges, clubs
• Cinemas, theatres, concerts
• Several parks and playgrounds
• Short distances to public transport
