Description
This four-room apartment for sale is situated on the second floor of a well-maintained period building dating from 1906, on the popular Gleimstraße in Prenzlauer Berg. The building has been continuously maintained over the years and was gradually modernised between 1995 and 2010. The apartment can be reached via the charming staircase or by lift, which stops between floors.
Originally comprising two separate apartments, the units were officially combined to create one spacious home. The rooms extend across the front building and side wing, resulting in a versatile layout with numerous possibilities.
Upon entering the apartment, a hallway provides access to the individual rooms. Immediately to the right is a bedroom with an adjoining storage room that could, for example, be used as a walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom is also accessible from the hallway and features a bathtub and a high-level window providing natural light and ventilation.
A further bedroom facing Gleimstraße has its own balcony, offering a bright and pleasant retreat.
Directly opposite is the spacious kitchen, located in the Berliner Zimmer—a characteristic feature of traditional Berlin apartments. A practical storage room is situated between the bedroom and the kitchen. The kitchen forms the heart of the apartment, connecting the front building with the side wing and offering ample space for a large dining table. After all, as everyone knows, the best parties always happen in the kitchen.
Three steps lead into the side wing. Here, another room has a balcony overlooking the peaceful courtyard and can be used as a living room, bedroom or home office, depending on your needs. From here, an additional room can be reached, which is suitable as a bedroom, guest room or workspace. The rooms in the side wing face west and therefore benefit from pleasant natural light, particularly in the afternoon and early evening.
The apartment was renovated in 2008 and provides an excellent basis for further personalisation. The hallway, kitchen and bedroom facing Gleimstraße feature original wooden floorboards, while the remaining rooms have laminate flooring.
The apartment is heated by a central gas heating system. According to the energy performance certificate, the property has an energy efficiency rating of C.
Its distinctive layout, two balconies and combination of front building and side wing make this four-room apartment a home with a wealth of possibilities—equally suitable for a family or a couple looking for additional workspaces and private retreats.

Location
Gleimstraße runs from east to west, stretching from the Gleim Tunnel to Schönhauser Allee.
In recent years, the area between Falkplatz and Schönhauser Allee, Kopenhagener Straße and Gaudystraße has evolved into something of a model neighbourhood for Prenzlauer Berg—not merely reflecting the stereotypical macchiato-infused “Prenzlberg” lifestyle, but almost appearing to be where it all began.
Here, a trendy Japanese restaurant sits alongside an architecture studio, yoga, Reiki and Shiatsu practices, a long-established Bionade bar serving just the right dose of East German nostalgia, a stylish furniture boutique, a super-funky-fancy sweet shop and even a hairdresser for dogs—woof!
Further along, you will find the local office of the Left Party; in the other direction are the Moritzhof children’s farm and Mauerpark. It is quite simply impossible not to love this eclectic mix.
Also worth mentioning are the nearby Schönhauser Allee Arcaden shopping centre, the Schönhauser Allee U-Bahn and S-Bahn station, and the fact that Robbie Williams once gave a surprise concert at Falkplatz… though perhaps that last detail is not strictly essential.
